Hello! I’m Rose…

I set up The Pink Cake Box in 2010, initially just creating cupcakes for birthdays and celebrations (all given out in pink cake boxes, hence the name!) I quickly moved on to 'big cakes' and would stay up all night in my dad’s restaurant in Matlock playing with bits of icing until it did what I wanted it to / the crazy vision I had in my head! (Literally all night!) All of my skills are self taught which I believe makes my designs unique and original.

I've always had a passion for baking from a young age with my dad at our family home. A firm favourite was the malteaser cake which was chocolate cake layered up with oodles of cream and malteasers and a fudgey chocolate icing on top.. it was seriously amazing! We would always look forward to our birthdays to see what creative cake he had made for us, I still think the classic fairy-tale princess pink castle with icecream cone turrets when I was 4 is my favourite, but closely followed by Winnie the Pooh's 'Happy Bee-day' at 5!

Anyway.. Things have gone from strength to strength for my lovely little cake business which has developed greatly in the past 11 years to being honoured with awards for the Best Wedding Cake Designer in the East Midlands.

I work alone, every element of your wedding cake is designed and created by me with my artistic, creative experience and skill. As a self confessed cake perfectionist, being able to create artistic and unique wedding cakes with that extra wow factor is what I love the most! Given your colour scheme, personality and general vision for the day I can really get creative and design something amazing up for you both. You can rely on my many years expertise designing wedding cakes and meticulous attention to detail to really make your cake simply one of a kind and a centrepiece for your big day.

I think it is really important to love what you do, I truly believe in quality over quantity so I only take on a really limited amount of work every week to make sure that all of my wedding cakes are created with the love and care that they deserve.
